Electromagnetic Wave Systems (EWS)
The HPEM-18S system is a remotely operated robotic vehicle equipped with a High Power Electromagnetics (HPEM) generator and an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna as its payload.
The system generates a very high-amplitude electric field and emits it in pulses using its wideband antenna. This emitted field neutralizes explosive threats triggered by explosive devices (IEDs) by remotely activating or disabling their triggering mechanisms.
Unlike jammers that are only effective against remotely controlled IEDs, the HPEM-18S system is effective against all types of trigger-based explosive threats.
The system consists of two main components: a remotely controlled robotic vehicle carrying the HPEM generator and UWB antenna payload, with remote operation performed via wired or wireless control.
The HPEM-18S is specially designed to be immune to the high-amplitude electromagnetic field it generates.
